Global specialty re/insurer Canopius has announced the appointment of Claire Kennett as Underwriter, Trade & Political risk.
Kennett joins Canopius from Acappella Syndicate where she served most recently as Underwriter, Political Risk.
Prior to this, she held roles at Aon Underwriting Managers and Liberty Specialty Markets.
Taking up her new position on January 13th, Kennett will report to Crispin Hodges, Head of Trade & Political risk at Canopius.
Hodges was appointed to this role in October 2019, following the created of the dedicated Trade Political Risk unit.
Canopius also announced the addition of Andrew Tongue to the unit earlier this month, who will similarly serve as a Trade & Political Risk underwriter.
“Claire’s appointment further signals our intent to capitalise on the huge potential created by the combination of AmTrust and Canopius’s political risk capabilities,” said Hodges.
“We are delighted to welcome Claire to Canopius, whose highly-relevant experience will be of huge benefit in the expansion and development of our dedicated Trade Political Risk unit.”
