CNA Hardy has named Raphael Borrel as its new director of risk management.
In his new role, Borrel will be responsible for developing the risk strategy and framework, and providing leadership to the Risk function. He will continue to be based in London and will report to Carl Kearney, chief actuary and risk officer.
Kearney said: “Effective management of risk and volatility is central to CNA Hardy’s growth and strategic ambitions. We are delighted to have someone of Raphael’s seniority and breadth of experience join our organisation to help us drive our risk management proposition and future success.”
Borrel joins CNA Hardy from AXA XL where he was the chief risk officer of XL Catlin Services Company. He has 25 years’ experience in risk management and compliance and previously served tenures at Big 4 consultancy firms, global insurers, and banks where he provided mergers and acquisitions support and led large scale risk and regulatory transformations.
