25th March 2019 - Author: Charlie Wood

London-based insurtech Concirrus has added former President of the International Union of Marine Insurance, Dieter Berg, to its Board as Non-Executive Director.

Dieter BergBerg served across a number of senior positions at Swiss Re before joining Munich Re as an Executive Manager in 2001. He would go on to serve in a Senior Executive Manager role before leaving the firm after 17 years.

“The marine industry is on the cusp of a digital revolution,” stated Berg. ” By embracing digital technologies and data analytics, marine insurers can further expand the borders of insurability.”

“It’s really exciting to see Concirrus playing a pivotal role in helping the insurance industry to harness the opportunities that lie ahead. I’m very much looking forward to working closely with the team and supporting the future success of this dynamic and ambitious company.”

Concirrus Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Yeoman, added, “We’re absolutely delighted and privileged to have Dieter join the Board.”

“We recognised that, if we wanted to continue in our commitment to helping our customers succeed, we needed to ensure that we had someone with deep experience, track record and gravitas and we found this in Dieter. Visionary and highly respected within the market, Dieter was a natural choice.”

“We’re excited for him to be part of our journey, helping us to reinforce our mission – that is to give our customers greater control in their decision-making to help grow their business and make it more profitable. It’s all about combining the art of underwriting with the science of data.”
