Global specialty re/insurance broker Consilium has appointed Samuel Outram as Managing Partner in its Energy Risk Solutions Division, as it expands its specialist Energy capabilities.

consilium logoOutram is a broker with over 17 years’ experience across the upstream and midstream energy markets, with deep expertise in first-party exposures across operators’ extra expense/control of well, energy-related PD, and energy packages.

Most recently, he served at Amwins Global Risks as the Divisional Director for Energy. Prior to this, he held energy broker positions with Roberts Armytage & Partners and Cogent International.

Outram’s appointment follows that of Johnny Hilliard, who was appointed Managing Partner of Consilium’s Energy division back in February this year.

The expansion of the team is the latest move by Consilium in its strategic build-out of a “comprehensive energy platform.” It now has expertise that spans a broad range of complex risk placements, underpinned by a detailed understanding of the evolving geopolitical, environmental, and commercial dynamics shaping the global energy landscape.

Peter Coleman, Chief Executive Officer, Consilium, commented on the appointment, “We’re delighted to welcome Samuel to the team – our dynamic, entrepreneurial model continues to attract some of the best talent in the market. Energy is a strategically important area of growth for Consilium globally.

“As the sector continues to evolve, clients need specialist advice, deep technical capability and access to innovative solutions more than ever. With Johnny and now Samuel on board, we have an outstanding platform from which to continue building.

“Our independent model, specialist expertise and continued investment in technology through ATOMX create a compelling proposition for brokers and clients alike. We see significant opportunity ahead in Energy, and Samuel’s appointment is another important step in delivering our long-term ambitions in the sector.”
