Conyers Partner, Peter Ch’ng, relocates to Hong Kong

International law firm, Conyers Dill & Pearman (Conyers), has announced that Partner Peter Ch’ng has relocated to Hong Kong from Bermuda, as the company looks to expand its corporate, banking, reinsurance and investment funds practices in the Far East.

Peter Ch'ngCh’ng has been with Conyers since 2001 and was most recently a Director in the Bermuda office, before relocating to its Hong Kong office as a Partner in the firm’s Corporate Department.

Ch’ng has extensive practice experience in mergers and acquisitions, reinsurance, mutual and investment funds, including insurance-linked securities structures, segregated accounts companies (SACs), private equity partnerships, special purpose vehicles, ownership-remote structures, IPOs and private placements and banking, and financial derivatives and services, explains Conyers in recent announcement.

Commenting on Ch’ng’s relocation, Christopher Bickley, Partner & Head of the Hong Kong office, said; “We are pleased to welcome Peter to Hong Kong. His extensive experience, as well as knowledge and expertise in some of his more unique areas adds to the strength and range of our practice offering in Asia.”

Prior to Conyers, Ch’ng’s professional career includes Vice President/Legal Counsel, The Citigroup Private Bank, Asia-Pacific division, Singapore; Senior Associate, Drew & Napier; and, Associate, Allen & Gledhill.

During his career he has acted for numerous organisations, including SS&C Technologies Holdings, Inc., The Carlyle Group, Asuka Asset Management Co., Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corporation, Bermuda Community Foundation, International Swaps and Derivatives Association, among others.

The statement from Conyers states that owing to Ch’ng’s background at The Citigroup Private Bank in Singapore, and his experience and qualifications in wealth management, he will have a focus on trust and private client services across Asia.
