Insurance specialist, Meridian Risk Solutions Limited has announced Darren Bailey is joining the company to lead its newly-launched unit Meridian Structured Solutions (MSS).
As Head of Structured Solutions, a London-based role, Bailey will be assisting the team in the creation of new facilities, markets and alternative solutions.
An expert in the US markets, the executive brings to his new role 21 years’ experience in the alternative markets arena, focusing on an advisory capacity and raising both risk and underwriting capital from a variety of sources.
Prior to his recent appointment, Bailey was CEO of International and Group Managing Director for Stonybrook and was also part of Tradesman Program Managers, where he served as Director of Capital Markets for two years.
In 2018, R&Q hired him as M&A Business Development, tasked with helping to develop the company’s run-off and legacy transactions. He also served as Roosevelt Road Re Ltd., formerly R&Q, as Director of ILS and Capital Markets.
The executive also held a number of roles at Aon, including over three years as Head of Capital Markets for Europe at Aon Securities. Additionally Bailey also spent four years at AIG as a Senior Underwriter.
