Specialty insurer Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has promoted Donagh Regan to the role of Head of Casualty in Ireland.
In his new role, Regan will continue to be based in Dublin.
He joined BHSI in 2021, and previously served as a senior casualty underwriter.
Overall, Regan brings more than two decades of industry experience that spans across underwriting, claims and risk engineering, towards his new role.
In addition, he previously worked at Travelers Insurance for a near seven year term. During his stint at the company, he served as a development underwriter, as well as a senior technology underwriter.
“Since joining BHSI in 2021, Donagh has been instrumental in building our solutions-focused casualty portfolio in Ireland,” said Louise Kidd, Country Manager, Ireland, BHSI.
“His deep underwriting knowledge, casualty risk expertise and excellent character make him exceptionally well suited to lead our casualty business into the future.”
Regan’s promotion adds to a series of recent appointments made by BHSI. Just recently, the firm appointed Sami Jaghbir as Underwriting Manager of Queensland.
BHSI also recently named Ana Fuertes as Head of Energy and Construction in Spain, and promoted Angela Meyer to Head of Product Liability in North America.
