Everest Re Group (Everest) has announced the appointed of Eric Koppang as its new Vice President (VP) and Head of Excess and Surplus (E&S) Casualty.
While b
ased out of Everest’s Chicago office, Koppang will report to Head of Speciality Casualty, Connie Germano.
He will be responsible for developing new products, product enhancements, and helping lead the expansion of the E&S primary casualty unit in the wholesale space.
Koppang joins with 30 years’ experience in the insurance industry, 23 of which was spent in E&S Casualty. He most recently served at Chubb, leading the Westchester E&S Casualty group as Senior VP.
While there, Koppang established Westchester’s Chicago office and managed the E&S Primary and Excess Casualty groups for the Midwest.
Commenting on the announcement, Germano, said, “We are very pleased Eric has joined us to lead the E&S Casualty unit. With his vast experience derived from various industry leadership roles and his strong technical underwriting acumen, we are confident he will be a tremendous asset to Everest Insurance® as we continue to innovate and solve our clients’ and trading partners’ most challenging problems.”
