Everest Reinsurance, the reinsurance division of Everest Re Group Ltd. has announced the promotion of Scott Paddington to Chief Agent and Chief Underwriting Officer of Everest Reinsurance Canada, as well as the appointment of Russ Lewis to Chairman of the same branch.
Within their new roles, both Paddington and Lewis will report directly to Jill Beggs, Head of North America Reinsurance at Everest.
In his new role, Paddington will oversee the operations of Everest’s reinsurance business in Canada, and Lewis will continue to provide strategic counsel to Everest’s reinsurance business in Canada and globally.
In a press release, it states that these appointments are part of the company’s continued investments in its deep bench of reinsurance talent and strategic goals, and will continue to strengthen in Everest’s leading market position.
Paddington, who joined Everest in 2010, has successfully led the growth and profitability of the Everest portfolio,
Before joining Everest, Paddington served as a financial advisor at Nesbitt Burns, in insurance at Empyrean and in reinsurance at Guy Carpenter Canada, as well as at various Canadian banks where he developed expertise in both capital markets and global risk management.
In addition, in this newly created position, Lewis will continue to represent Everest in the market and serve clients and broker partners.
Lewis will also provide strategic direction and guidance to the Executive Team in both Canada, and globally.
Over his 30-year career at Everest, Lewis led a team that successfully grew the Canadian operation, and built a leading brand in the Canadian market.
Earlier in his career, Lewis gained reinsurance expertise at Prudential and General Reinsurance.
