Reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter has named Bengt Johnsen as President and Head of the South East Asia and Korea (SEAK) region, succeeding Richard Jones, who was promoted to Chairman of the Asia Pacific region in August 2017.
Effective 18th January, 2018, Johnsen will be based in Singapore and will report to Tony Gallagher, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Asia Pacific.
He will be tasked with overseeing the broker’s operations across the region, and will be responsible for further developing its local capabilities.
Commenting on the appointment, Gallagher said: “Bengt is an ideal choice to lead Guy Carpenter forward in the SEAK region. He brings decades of experience building highly successful client-relationships, extensive industry expertise and impressive local market knowledge to Guy Carpenter. I have confidence that Bengt will further enhance and grow our business in the region.”
