Global insurance and reinsurance broker and risk advisor, Aon, has appointed Helene Madell as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for its Global Broking Centre, effective June 1st, 2026, subject to regulatory approval.
In her new role, Madell will report to Christian Hoffman, Global CEO of Commercial Risk. She will lead the London-based Global Broking Centre, Aon’s wholesale and specialty broking business.
Madell’s remit includes bringing together deep subject matter expertise and access to global capacity to help clients address complex and interconnected risks.
Most recently, she served as Head of Property, Casualty and Crisis Management within the Global Broking Centre, supporting the broker’s global network across these lines of business, and worked closely with market teams to align solutions for clients across geographies.
Aon states that Madell has played a key role in strengthening connectivity across broking centers and bringing market insight and placement strategy to client needs globally. She joined Aon in 2018 as Managing Director and Chief Broking Officer in Australia, and later returned to the UK as Chief Broking Officer for Aon’s UK-based retail business.
Before this, Madell held senior leadership roles at Willis, following an extensive career in the London insurance market. She is Chair of Aon’s UK Product Governance Committee, and a member of the BIBA International Wholesale and Advisory Board.
Hoffman commented on the appointment, “As we continue to advance our Aon United strategy and help clients navigate increasing volatility and complexity, Helene’s leadership, market perspective and deep connectivity across the industry will advance how we bring the best of Aon to clients around the world.
“Helene has a strong track record of building high-performing teams and delivering data-driven solutions that help clients make better decisions.”
Madell said, “It is a privilege to lead Aon’s Global Broking Centre at such an important time for our clients. The risks facing our clients are complex and increasingly interconnected.
“Our role is to bring the best of Aon together – global expertise, deep market relationships and access to global capacity – to secure the right solutions for clients in a highly dynamic risk environment.”
Aon’s Global Broking Centre provides insight-driven risk transfer advice, placement solutions, proactive market insight, and claims expertise.
The firm partners with regions and countries to structure and manage complex placements for clients across multiple specialty areas, supported by a broad claims advocacy capability.
