Specialist global insurer and reinsurer, Hiscox has appointed Stéphane Flaquet as the Group’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) effective from 1st September 2022 and subject to regulatory consents.
Flaquet has been with the company since 2010, and has served in a number of different senior roles.
Initially he first joined Hiscox as COO for Hiscox Europe. He then went on to become Group IT Director in 2012, and then Chief Executive Officer for Hiscox Europe between 2016 and 2021.
Currently, he serves as Group Chief Transformation Officer and Interim Chief Executive Officer for Hiscox UK.
Within his new role, Flaquet will oversee different critical central functions, including Group Claims, Group IT, Property Services, Procurement and Group Marketing, to ensure the continued effective and efficient delivery of core services.
In addition, he will also be a member of the Group Chief Executive Committee, and will report to Hiscox CEO, Aki Hussain.
Addressing his appointment, Flaquet added: “This is a great role and represents a unique opportunity to drive impactful new initiatives and to really help shape the future of what I think is a fantastic business. I can’t wait to help us enhance our existing capabilities, build new ones and harness synergies across the Group – contributions that I believe will enable us to realise the significant opportunities ahead.”
