Ian Curtin joins Miller from Marsh as Head of Energy Construction team

Insurance and reinsurance broker Miller has appointed Ian Curtin as Head of its Energy Construction team to bring expertise in oil and gas re/insurance to clients globally.

Ian CurtinCurtin has decades of experience in various areas of the energy world and joins Miller from Marsh, where he served as Global Head of Offshore Construction and Head of Energy Construction, London.

In his new role, he will work with Miller’s team in London to develop business for both offshore and onshore projects, as well as upstream and downstream operational business.

Alex Vincent, Head of Energy at Miller, said: “Ian is an excellent addition to Miller’s Energy team. Having been involved in some of the most pioneering megaprojects to date, his experience and knowledge of the sector will be of great value to our clients across the globe.”

Prior to Marsh, Curtin held a number of senior positions at Alexander Forbes/Lockton, C.E. Heath, and Sedgwick, where he began his insurance career in 1977.


He has extensive experience working on major projects in the UK, Norway, and Australia, and designed and placed the insurance programmes for two of the three first floating LNG projects.
