Lawrence to succeed Del Col as Sompo Intl. General Counsel

Bermuda-based specialty property and casualty re/insurer Sompo International has announced the appointment of Windy Lawrence as its new General Counsel.

Sompo InternationalBased in Sompo International’s New York City office, Lawrence will report to Chris Gallagher, Chief Executive Officer, Sompo International Commercial P&C and will serve on the Executive Leadership Team

She succeeds John Del Col, who will be retiring at the end of the year as General Counsel after nearly 20 years with Sompo International and its predecessor company.

Lawrence joins Sompo International with twenty years of corporate legal experience, most recently as the Head of Legal, Corporate and Strategic Transactions, for a global, commercial insurance organization.

She has held multiple legal and regulatory roles and was responsible for the operational, legal, and regulatory integrations of major organizations.
