Liberty Mutual Reinsurance has promoted Vincent Gilardi to Head of International Treaty Casualty.
Within this role, Gilardi will lead all casualty reinsurance international business for Liberty Mutual Re
Gilardi joined Liberty Mutual Re in 2019 where he was appointed as a Senior Underwriter for International Casualty.
Prior to joining Liberty Mutual Re, Gilardi served for over 12 years in various roles at XL Catlin, including Casualty senior underwriter & market lead director – EMEA region and Lead casualty and credit & surety underwriter – Latin America.
Before joining XL Catlin, Gilardi served as an Assistant Underwriter P&C for just under two years at AXIS Capital Re.
In addition, Gilardi also held previous roles at PartnerRe Ltd, including Credit & political risks Jr underwriter & Junior account manager – Southern Europe Latin America Dept.
Earlier this week, it was announced that Liberty Mutual Re had appointed reinsurance and retrocession expert Ly Lam to the newly-created role of Chief of Staff.
Meanwhile, in its Q3 22 results, Liberty Mutual Holding Company (LMHC) along with its subsidiaries reported a net loss of $353 million. The company noted that the net loss was mostly driven by elevated catastrophe losses and volatility within the investment markets.
