Global re/insurance broker Marsh’s middle market agency, Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC (MMA), has appointed Paul Hering to the newly created position of Vice Chairman.
In his new role, Hering takes responsibility for helping to lead the firm’s key growth strategies, which includes talent development, acquisitions, and carrier relations. He will continue to serve on MMA’s National Strategy Team, assisting with both the development and execution of corporate initiatives.
Hering previously served as Chairman of MMA’s West region, and prior to this spent 16 years as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Barney & Barney, a San Diego domiciled insurance agency which was acquired by MMA in 2014.
As Vice Chairman of MMA, Hering will remain in San Diego and will continue to work closely with local leadership in addition to his national responsibilities. He will report to MMA Chairman and CEO, David Eslick.
