Miller, an independent specialist re/insurance broker serving clients across London and international markets, has announced the appointment of Andrew Yarwood as Senior Director within its Marine team.

Yarwood joins Miller with more than 20 years of experience spanning marine insurance, legal services, claims and investigations. His background includes extensive work within the Marine sector, alongside experience in the London insurance market and international legal practice.

Prior to joining Miller, Yarwood worked at Gray Page Intelligence Services. He previously spent more than a decade working as a London market insurance lawyer, where he held senior roles with international law firms in London. According to Miller, he started his career in the Marine sector as a Claims Manager at Britannia P&I Club.

In his new position at Miller, Yarwood will concentrate on Direct Marine business. The broker said his responsibilities will include supporting business development and client outcomes across both the London and international markets.

Nick Summers, Head of Direct Marine at Miller, said: “Andrew brings a unique blend of marine insurance, legal, claims and investigative expertise, combined with an extensive international network and deep understanding of marine risk. His experience across insurance, law, commodities and complex investigations makes him a highly valuable addition to Miller’s growing Direct Marine business as we continue to deliver timely and innovative insurance solutions against a complex and volatile international backdrop. It’s a pleasure to be welcoming Andrew to the team.”

Yarwood added: “I’m delighted to be joining the team at Miller, where Marine is a cornerstone of the business’s hard-won reputation for client service excellence and deep market specialism. To join a London market broker with such heritage in the Marine sector that operates with such continuity across international markets was a uniquely attractive proposition, and I’m excited by the opportunities we see for growth in a risk environment where relationships and specialism are valued more than ever.”
