McGriff, one of the leading full-service retail insurance brokers in the US, has announced the promotion of Milton Smith to National Director, Surety.
In this new role, Smith will be responsible for leading the firm’s surety operations and driving the overall growth of the surety practice.
He joined McGriff in 2000, and he served as Executive Vice President for over two decades. With more than 27 years of experience in the insurance industry, he specialises in commercial surety and surety for construction-related risks.
Smith has also been actively involved with the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) for over 20 years and has served as the chair for the national AGC Service and Supply Steering Committee and AGC’s Construction Leadership Council.
Additionally, on a local level, he has served as president of the Birmingham chapter’s Associates Board. He is also involved with the National Association of Surety Bond Producers, Associated Builders and Contractors, the Construction Financial Management Association, and various other industry-related organisations.
