Specialist global re/insurer MS Amlin has expanded its senior leadership team with the appointments of Simon Smith as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Vivian Leinster as Chief People Officer.

Smith will take up his new position in July, and joins MS Amlin from insurance and reinsurance broker Willis Towers Watson, where he most recently served as CEO for India.

During his 10-year career at Willis, Smith also led a team of 3,500 employees as CEO of Global Solutions & Delivery, before which he was COO of Asia-Pacific, having begun his career at GE.

Leinster will now be responsible for MS Amlin’s Human Resources function, and brings over 20 years’ experience in Human Resources to her new position.

Beale commented on the new appointments: “I am delighted to welcome Simon and Vivian to MS Amlin. The hires demonstrate our ability to attract leading industry talent and their wealth of experience and proven ability in successfully implementing change will be invaluable as we embark on an exciting new chapter in our history.

“I am confident they will both make a significant contribution to the programme of initiatives underway as we build a modern, relevant business with a sustainable and profitable long-term future. I look forward to working with them both as we move forward with our plans for MS Amlin.”
