Munich Re, U.S adds new member to P&C executive board

Munich Re, U.S has announced that Jill Beggs has been appointed to its Property and Casualty (P&C) Executive Board.

Jill BeggsBeggs will now share responsibility for setting vision, strategy and governance at Munich Re, U.S, and will report to the company’s President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Tony Kuczinski.

Additionally, Beggs will be involved in Munich Re’s U.S innovation activities in both new and core businesses, and will provide oversight for the company’s new Data Hunting unit in Princeton, New Jersey.

Commenting on Beggs’ appointment, Kuczinski said: “As Munich Re, US continues to adapt our business model in a rapidly changing world, our ability to innovate is critical to our future success.

“Jill has been instrumental in bringing innovation to the forefront. She has added tremendous value to our organization, working strategically to advance our own innovation efforts and to collaborate with our clients and customers to help them find new ways to meet the future needs of families, businesses and communities.

“We are pleased to have her join the Munich Re, US Executive Board, where she will contribute her energy and strategic vision as we continue to evolve.”

Beggs will also retain her current position as Head of New Strategic Markets at Munich Re, U.S, which she has held since 2015. In this role, she is responsible for the oversight of the Incubator and the U.S Innovation Lab, as well as Cross Platform Development and Marketing and Communications.

Beggs joined Munich Re, U.S in 2002 as a production underwriter and has since held a number of senior positions at the company, including Senior Vice President and Property Underwriting Manager, and Head of Specialty Lines Underwriting.
