Novus Underwriting, the specialist global wholesale warranty and affinity MGA, has further strengthened its underwriting capability with the appointment of Mark Noble.

Noble brings five years of industry experience, with expertise across a range of consumer protection insurance products, particularly Accident, Sickness & Unemployment insurance.

He has a strong understanding of the development of consumer-focused products and expertise in building value-driven bespoke solutions.

Noble joins Novus from Canopius, where he most recently served as Assistant Underwriter in its Specialist Consumer Products team.

Established by the leaders of Aventum Group in 2017, Novus is part of Rokstone Group, the international speciality re/insurance MGA of Aventum.

Novus currently writes over £270 million gross premium per annum across mobile device protection, extended vehicle warranty, GAP, affinity programmes, appliance and furniture warranty, and financial protection products. The firm expects to reach £450 million GWP by 2030, diversifying its portfolio, growing in the UK, and expanding its international footprint.

Grant McMorrow, Head of Underwriting – Affinity & Warranty at Novus, commented, “We’re thrilled to welcome Mark to the team. His experience in UK consumer protection insurance products strengthens our underwriting team in the UK and vitally will afford myself and the management team the bandwidth needed to execute our growth vision. Our focus is on delivering best-in-class outcomes for our partners as we move to become the leading global underwriting business in the warranty and affinity space.”

Noble added, “I’m joining Novus at a very exciting time. Leaving Canopius was not a decision I took lightly, but the culture of entrepreneurship and autonomy at Novus makes it the logical next step for me. Novus is a relationship-driven and technologically advanced business redefining what great looks like in the warranty and affinity market. I look forward to playing my part as it continues to exceed its growth ambitions.”
