Lloyd’s managing agency AEGIS London has promoted Phil Lucas to the newly created role of Digital Applications Manager.
Lucas was formerly Business Application Manager, having originally joined AEGIS London in 2010.
He has over 20 years’ experience in application and IT support and manages the infrastructure of AEGIS London’s Opal online quote-and-bind platform as well as the electronic delivery of new products and enhancements.
During his career, Lucas has previously held senior roles with Unilever, Merrill Lynch and Lloyds Banking Group.
In his new role, he will report to Tom Squires, Head of Digital Trading.
“Digital trading and distribution is a growing part of AEGIS London’s business model as evidenced by the success of our Opal platform,” said Squires.
“With that in mind, we’ve created this role to provide dedicated IT support to our Digital Trading Division. With his many years of vendor and business application experience, Phil was ideally placed to take on this new role.”
AEGIS London is the UK-based subsidiary of AEGIS (Associated Electric & Gas Insurance Services Limited), a mutual insurance company that serves the energy industry. It operates Syndicate 1225 at Lloyd’s.
