Old Republic International Corporation – PMA Companies, Inc (PMA), a member of the Old Republic General Insurance Group, has appointed Sashi Aiyathurai as Executive Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer.
Within the role, Aiyathurai will oversee all aspects of the company’s insurance underwriting and corporate distribution functions. She will also serve as a key member of the Office of the CEO, reporting to Derek Hopper, PMA’s CEO.
She joins PMA with over 25 years of experience within the industry. Most recently she served as Senior Vice President & Segment Leader at Chubb.
Prior to that, she spent over three years working in various positions at Travelers.
Further, Aiyathurai also previously held underwriting & workers compensation positions at The Hartford, during her nine year tenure at the firm.
Aiyathurai began her career in the industry in 1994 at Liberty Mutual Insurance. During her tenure at the company she served as Chief Underwriter & Regional Underwriting Manager.
