Probitas 1492 has hired Ezeugo Aguta to be its new head of cyber strategy and innovation.

Probitas Labs focus on three main areas: cyber research and development, including data analytics and market platforms; client and vendor services, which will help support clients before, during and after a breach; and thought leadership.

Aguta said: “I am excited to join Probitas, especially at this stage, to continue establishing our unique value proposition to the market.”

Aguta has been a senior cyber underwriter with Munich Re since 2018, underwriting cyber risks across various industries. Prior to joining Munich Re, he was the head of security risk and data
analytics at MasterCard (VocaLink) specialising in cyber risk analysis, cyber-attack simulation, and developing and automating cyber security control frameworks. He was also key in automating cyber forensic and investigation workflow systems for various security agencies and financial institutions.

This hire by Probitas 1492 echoes that of Richard Taylor in April this year, when he was hired as head of cyber and technology. Like Aguta, Taylor also joined from Munich Re. During his time at Munich Re Syndicate Limited, he was involved in underwriting cyber risks for first- and third-party damages across most industries, which includes energy, manufacturing, healthcare, retail, finance, and IT/technology services.

Taylor, meanwhile, welcomed Aguta to the team.

He said in a statement: It’s a great time to welcome Zugo to the team at Probitas, as there is an opportunity to build a cyber proposition that gives back to the market whilst providing services insureds have been yearning for.”
