QBE Re appoints Tim Barber as interim head of US Treaty

QBE Re has appointed Tim Barber to be its interim head of US Treaty.

qbe-re-logoThe firm said that Barber would be replacing Chris Larson, who was stepping down for personal reasons. In his new role, Barber will be reporting to Steve Postlewhite, global managing director of QBE Re.

Postlewhite said in a statement: “I am delighted that Tim Barber will lead our US treaty team.

“Tim is a highly experienced operator and will do a fantastic job continuing to develop our treaty business in North America. We continue to see considerable opportunity and remain ambitious with our growth plans for our global business.”

He added: “We are sorry to see Chris depart and join the market in wishing him and his family the best for the future.”

According to his LinkedIn profile, Barber has been with QBE Re since May 2011, working in the international casualty division alongside a role as capital optimization strategist.

He also led the company’s combined US and international Casualty Treaty teams from September 2020, where he also reported directly to Steve Postlewhite.
