RSA, one of the largest UK commercial insurers, has appointed Mandy Hunt as its new Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) for Commercial Risk Solutions (CRS), RSA UK & International.
She succeeds Colin Bradbury, who will retire from the role next year after more than 40 years with RSA.
They will enter a transitional period on October 1, 2018, when Hunt will take over as CUO with Bradbury supporting both her and the wider CRS leadership team until his retirement in July 2019.
Hunt is currently Managing Director of RSA’s Jersey and Guernsey-based insurance business, the Insurance Corporation of the Channel Islands, which has already begun the recruitment process for a new Managing Director.
She has worked at RSA for 20 years, having held various liability and schemes portfolio lead roles in the South in addition to serving as Regional Manager for Redhill, before which she spent eight years in broking.
Rob Gibbs, CRS Managing Director, said: “After an extensive search, I am delighted Mandy will be joining the CRS executive team having accepted the position of CUO within CRS. Mandy has made a strong and positive impact at ICCI, leading the business to its recent accreditation as a chartered insurer. Having held various roles across the UK with RSA for the past 20 years, Mandy brings a wealth of experience to her new role.”
Outgoing CUO Bradbury joined RSA as an underwriting apprentice in 1977, and has since held various underwriting positions, including as Commercial Product Director in RSA’s UK Underwriting and Pricing team.
Gibbs added: “Colin is a highly respected underwriter and leader within RSA and will be missed by his friends and colleagues when he retires next year. Recently, Colin has gone further in sharing his expertise directly with our broker partners, via a series of webinars covering regulatory issues.
“This is indicative of Colin’s appetite to drive professional standards and collaboration within RSA and across the insurance industry. I’m pleased Colin is staying with us for another 12 months, which ensures a smooth transition following his retirement.”
