Specialist Risk Group (SRG), an integrated group of insurance intermediaries, has promoted Lee Anderson to Group Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and at the same hired Clare Lebecq as Group Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Towards the end of December, it was revealed that SRG had agreed to be acquired by middle-market private equity firm, HGGC.
Since then, SRG has announced the acquisitions of KBIS British Equestrian Insurance, GB Underwriting, and The Channel Partnership, and now moves to boost its senior leadership team as it prepares for future growth.
“I am delighted Lee is taking up the role as Group Deputy CEO. He plays an integral role in the character and development of our Group. More of our business will be under his leadership going forward which is good news for all of us who know Lee and how he operates,” said Warren Downey, SRG Group CEO.
“Clare Lebecq is an important figure in our industry and a tenacious and qualified leader. She has made a tremendous difference to our market in her role as CEO of London Market Group. We are excited to have her join our senior team as she takes responsibility for our operational platform and in particular the integration of our acquired businesses,” he added.
Anderson joined SRG in 2019 as Group COO, also assuming the roles of Specialist Risk Insurance Solutions Managing Director and Specialist Risk Underwriting Solutions CEO. Prior to SRG, he was a Senior Partner at JLT Specialty for eight years, having left the Towergate Group after six years.
Commenting on his new role, Anderson said: “I am honoured and excited to take up my new role in helping lead and develop SRG in its next phase of growth and am thrilled that Clare is joining us to help us all realise our full potential.”
Lebecq is set to join the firm at the end of April from her role as CEO of the London Market Group (LMG), a role she has held since November 2018. Prior to the LMG, she was Director of Operations at JLT Specialty for more than seven years.
“I am delighted to be joining SRG at such an important stage of their journey. I am also excited to be joining a company that recognizes that culture and being a good colleague positively influences its success as a business,” said Lebecq.
