Global reinsurance firm Swiss Re has hired Sandeep Gopal from Allied World to join the firm as Chief Risk Officer of its Corporate Solutions Asia Pacific division, Reinsurance News can reveal.
Gopal is currently Head of Risk, Asia Pacific at Allied World Assurance Company, based in Singapore. He has been with that firm since April 2015.
Swiss Re confirmed that Gopal will join the company as Chief Risk Officer Asia Pacific within the Swiss Re Corporate Solutions division on March 20th 2017 and will continue to be based in Singapore.
Gopal had previously been Head of Risk at RSA covering the specialty lines corporate insurance business across Asia and the Middle East, prior to which he was a Risk and Governance Manager for emerging markets at the insurer having joined RSA in 2011.
Swiss Re Corporate Solutions deals with the risk management and risk financing needs of large corporations around the globe. Asia Pacific is a key market, where the reinsurers financial strength and large balance-sheet are key to building strong client relationships.
