Independent insurance technology firm EigenRisk, Inc. has partnered with global reinsurer Swiss Re to integrate CatNet hazard data directly into its flagship exposure management platform, EigenPrism.

CatNet is Swiss Re’s natural hazard analytics platform and is built to give insurers fast, consistent overviews and assessments of natural catastrophe exposure anywhere in the world. Its coverage spans major perils including flood, earthquake, tsunami, and wind and storm surge.

To address the growing frequency and financial severity of climate-driven secondary perils, Swiss Re has continued to expand CatNet’s coverage over time, including a wildfire capability built to help insurers assess risk in wildfire-prone areas and an updated hail hazard layer addressing the rising cost of severe convective storms.

“Every data source we add to the EigenPrism platform gives insurers, brokers and risk executives another way to identify, understand, assess and respond to the catastrophe exposures most relevant to their risk portfolios or properties,” said Deepak Badoni, co-founder and President of EigenRisk. “Swiss Re’s CatNet® data resources are trusted throughout the industry, and we’re thrilled to put this powerful capability into our clients’ hands via EigenPrism.”

Ali Shahkarami, Head of Risk Data Solutions, Insurance and Public Sector, Swiss Re, commented: “Risk intelligence creates the most value when it is operationalized and embedded directly into the decisions insurers make every day.

“By making CatNet’s trusted, global natural hazard intelligence available through EigenPrism, we’re giving more insurers, MGAs and brokers access to Swiss Re’s risk expertise within a platform and workflow they already use — helping them understand their exposures and make quicker and more informed risk decisions.”
