William Legge, General Manager of the Underwriting Agencies Council, has been invited to join ACORD’s peak Asia Pacific governance committee.

UAC LogoEstablished at ACORD’s 2018 board of directors’ meeting, the Asia-Pacific General Insurance (GI) Program Advisory Council (PAC) offers direction to the Asia-Pacific GI Program, which provides insurance process, messaging and data standards for the Asia-Pacific GI marketplace.

The standards apply to a range of GI products underwritten across the Asia Pacific region, and are designed to support the entire policy and claims life cycle.

Participants in the program are ACORD members from across the GI community, including agents and brokers, distributors, insurers, service providers, software providers and industry associations.

Legge commended ACORD’s program, saying that it had an important role in harmonising standards across an increasingly global industry.

He was also welcomed to the committee by Steven Tuften, ACORD’s representative for Australia and New Zealand, who said: “Many regional underwriters and Lloyd’s coverholders have joined ACORD to take advantage of ACORD’s delegated authority reporting standard developed for London market reporting.

“William brings a wealth of experience and an invaluable perspective to PAC in his role supporting the regional underwriting community.”

Legge’s appointment follows a reciprocal membership agreement that UAC and ACORD entered into in February 2018.
