Global data analytics provider Verisk has announced the launch of piCalculator Portal Edition (PE), a new version of its personal injury claims calculator designed specifically to support claims through the existing MOJ portal and the new RTA Small Claims Track portal.

car crashThe Portal Edition enables law firms and insurers to automate the management and processing of low-value personal injury PSLA (pain, suffering, and loss of amenity) and special damage calculations.

Verisk believes that piCalculator PE can help law firms maintain profitability when handling lower-value claims by reducing the time and manual touchpoints often required to evaluate damages.

Additionally, by delivering process efficiencies, the solution can help speed up the resolution of personal injury claims.

“The Portal Edition of piCalculator is tailored to the requirements of claim handlers and law firms processing low-value claims for the existing MOJ portal and in anticipation of the RTA Small Claims Track portal being developed as part of the personal injury reforms next year,” said Mark Hewitt, creator of piCalculator and director at Verisk.

“We’re dedicated to making damage calculation and claim progression a painless experience for all parties, harnessing proven Verisk technology and introducing a highly intuitive user interface,” he added.

Verisk explained that piCalculator PE can also accelerate medical report evaluation through its General Damages Evaluation Module (GEM), providing users with a toolkit for loss of earnings and care claim calculations.

Furthermore, the solution fully integrates with existing legal case management systems and can be used within the Verisk Claims Outcome Advisor A2A interface to offer increased functionality.
