Liane Hirner has been re-elected for another four-year term to the Insurance and Reinsurance Stakeholder Group (IRSG) of the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA).
Hirner is a member of the Managing Board of Directors and CFRO of Vienna Insurance Group (VIG).
In her role at EIOPA, she will help develop the regulatory environment.
Liane Hirner remains the only Austrian representative on the 30-member committee. As an industry member, she will represent the insurance sector in EIOPA’s decisions on regulations and policies related to insurance.
Expressing her enthusiasm for her re-election, Hirner said, “I am delighted to have been re-elected and will continue to work to ensure that future EU requirements are formulated in a pragmatic and market-oriented manner.”
EIOPA consults its stakeholder groups on regulatory standards, guidelines, and recommendations, as long as these do not concern individual insurers.
