Will Green to lead aviation war risks at TMK

8th March 2023 - Author: Matt Sheehan

Global specialist insurance company Tokio Marine Kiln (TMK) has announced the appointment of Will Green as Divisional Head of War within its aviation underwriting team.

His appointment marks the creation of a dedicated aviation war team for TMK, following many years writing this class.

The insurer notes that a dedicated team will enable it to better tailor solutions for clients at a time when geopolitical uncertainty and an increasingly complex trading environment have increased demand for specialist war risks coverage.

Green has an extensive experience in aviation, with more than 13 years in insurance underwriting and broking roles.

He reports to David Slevin, Head of Aviation, alongside two other senior members of the team; Lisa Leahy, Divisional Head of Airlines, who joined TMK at the end of 2022, and Graham Oddie, Divisional Head of General Aviation and Aerospace.

“I’m delighted to have joined TMK, a recognised leader in the Lloyd’s insurance market which offers the scale and strength that our clients need to manage the volatility we are seeing,” said Green.

“I’m looking forward to bringing my experience to this dynamic team and building a successful and dedicated Aviation War team.”

Slevin added: “We expect uncertainty to continue over the next few decades, which highlights the need for specialist war markets. At TMK, we want to ensure that the market repositions itself and is robust enough to withstand increased geopolitical volatility. I’m delighted to welcome Will to the team.”

TMK has written aviation business since 1976 and is the largest writer of aviation risks in the Lloyd’s market by GWP.
