QBE Re, the reinsurance division of global insurance group QBE, has announced the appointment of Will Moss as its Head of Marine, Energy & Aviation, London.
He is succeeding Shane Lawlor, who was appointed Executive Director, Global Specialty for QBE Re in 2025.
In his new position, Moss will be responsible for QBE Re’s Marine, Energy and Aviation portfolio written out of the company’s London office, as the reinsurer continues to build out this book of business.
The executive will be reporting to Mark Jackaman, QBE Re’s Executive Director for International, who commented: “We are pleased to welcome someone of Will’s talent to QBE Re to lead our London Marine, Energy & Aviation team.
“These lines are a core component of QBE Re’s Specialty portfolio and broader product offering. Will’s experience will play a key role in strengthening client relationships and driving the continued growth of the business.”
Moss brings over two decades of reinsurance experience and is joining QBE Re from Aspen Re, where he most recently served as Head of Marine, Energy, Terror, Agriculture and Cyber.
He initially joined Aspen Re in 2004 as a Specialty Lines Underwriter, he was then appointed Specialty Lines Senior Underwriter for the Asia Pacific region, based in Singapore.
During this time he helped develop the company’s Agriculture, Aviation, PA, Marine and Terrorism Reinsurance portfolio. Moss was then named Head of Agriculture, a London-based role, before spending almost four years in his most recent role.
