Wrisk has formed a new subsidiary to be known as Wrisk USA Corp, which will be based in Hartford, Connecticut.
The London-based firm said the formation of Wrisk USA Corp was part of its strategy to deploy its platform across the globe for its automotive and insurer clients. According to Wrisk’s website, its platform empowers leading brands to build frictionless, mobile-first insurance.
In a statement, the company said: “Wrisk chose Connecticut as its USA headquarters in view of the recently announced ‘insurtech corridor’ between the UK and Connecticut. Wrisk believes it can bring to US consumers and its US insurer partners some of the valuable insurance innovations that it has already delivered to customers, partners and insurers in the UK market.”
On its website, Wrisk touts a number of partners with firms and organisations such as the RAC in the UK, Allianz, and BMW.
According to the company’s website, Wrisk’s product is a smartphone application for insurance. Its CEO at the time compared it to Monzo and Atom within the banking space, and eToro for trading shares.
