Insurance and reinsurance broker Aon has announced the appointment of Darren T. Oliver as Head of Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, with immediate effect.
In his new role, based in Manila, Philippines, Oliver will be responsible for leading the new sub-region to better reflect the clients and industries the broker serves.
He will work closely with Quyen Nguyen, Head of Vietnam, and William Pembroke, Head of Aon Thailand to leverage natural synergies and strengths to further advance our Aon United strategy and focus on delivering positive outcomes for our clients and colleagues.
Oliver will report to Anne Corona, Chief Executive Officer of Aon for Asia Pacific, and join the Aon Asia Pacific Executive Committee.
Aon’s new hire is joining the company from WTW, where he most recently served as General Manager Vic/SA and National Workplace Risk Manager. Prior to that he was Head of Workplace Risk, both roles were based in Australia.
Oliver had been part of Aon earlier in his career, having joined the broker in 2001 as Practice Manager – Workplace Risk.
Following his ten-year tenure with Aon, he became the Founder and Managing Director of Thomas James Group and International – People Insurance.
Aon has also recently announced Aon the appointment of Tracy Lee Kus as Head of North Asia, comprising Japan and Korea.
According to the broker, this move will build on “the existing synergies and momentum between the two countries”.
