Aon, a global re/insurance broker and risk advisor, has announced the appointment of José María Navas as Chief Claims Officer for EMEA.
In his new role, Navas will lead the firm’s claims organisation across EMEA, overseeing strategy, advocacy, and claims preparation capabilities to help clients navigate an increasingly complex claims environment.
He will further develop Aon’s claims capabilities across the region, including the adoption of Aon Claims Copilot, the firm’s recently expanded global claims platform. Combining claims data, analytics, and digital claims management tools, the platform supports colleagues in delivering more consistent, insight-led outcomes for clients throughout the claims lifecycle.
Navas will report to Luca Tassarotti, Head of Commercial Risk for EMEA.
He brings nearly 25 years of experience with Aon, most recently serving as Chief Claims Officer in Spain, where he led a team of 120 professionals delivering all claims-related services to policyholders.
Before that, he led Aon’s Construction & Infrastructures practice in Spain and previously served as Executive Director at Aon Consulting Services, S.A.U. (Asevasa).
During his tenure in Spain, Navas played a key role in developing enhanced claims servicing capabilities to support clients through complex and large-scale losses, while strengthening insurer relationships and operational delivery.
