Aon names head of global credit, unveils new global credit team

Leading global professional services firm Aon plc appointed Ben Walker as the head of global credit, spearheading a united team that combines various credit reinsurance classes to enhance client experience and offer comprehensive solutions.

It has also unveiled a new global credit team structure within its Reinsurance Solutions division.

The global credit team will bring together Aon’s existing mortgage, trade credit, structured credit, and political risk and surety businesses into one cohesive function.

This strategic integration aims to provide clients with improved access to a wider range of collaborative experts across all credit reinsurance sectors.

The objective is to assist clients in building resilience and reducing volatility within their businesses.

Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions division has a talented pool of more than 50 credit, mortgage, and surety specialists located worldwide. Collectively, these experts handle approximately $3 billion in reinsurance premiums annually.

The formation of the global credit team underscores Aon’s commitment to supporting its clients, enabling them to navigate the evolving landscape with confidence.

Joining Ben Walker in leading the global credit reinsurance team are several experienced colleagues. Nick Ayres assumes the role of chairman of global credit while retaining his position as chairman of credit and financial risks UK.

Doug Espenson becomes the head of U.S. mortgage, and Rupert Evans takes charge of trade credit, structured credit, political risk, and international surety, while continuing as the head of credit and financial risks UK.

Andreas Koutris assumes the role of head of international mortgage, and Randy Temple continues his tenure as head of U.S. surety.

Joe Monaghan, the global growth leader for Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions, expressed the company’s objective to deliver exemplary service and execution to its credit clients worldwide through the integration of their global capabilities.
