Arch Insurance International has appointed David Longley to be its new head of professional indemnity.
Most recently, Longley was deputy UK PI manager at AXA XL. He has also held roles at ACE Group and Liberty Mutual.
In his new role, he will manage Arch’s London Market SME and Large Account PI underwriting teams with a focus on further developing and expanding the portfolio.
He will also provide technical oversight for Arch’s UK Regional and Australian PI underwriting teams. Based in London, he will report to Duncan Smith, head of professional lines.
Smith said in a statement: “David is a great addition to our professional lines team. He brings a wealth of PI expertise and has a proven track record for portfolio development and management. His appointment is a significant step forward in Arch’s continued drive to increase our relevance to our brokers, strengthen our market standing and deliver informed solutions in response to evolving opportunities in this class.”
Longley is not the only new start at Arch in recent weeks. At the end of May, the firm named Andrew Bauckham as its new head of terrorism, political violence, and war.
