Bermuda-based reinsurer Aspen Re, the reinsurance arm of Aspen Insurance Holdings Limited, has announced the appointment of Jim Brown as Head of Casualty, Aspen Re America.
Effective October 12th, 2020, Brown will be based in the company’s New York and Rocky Hill, CT, offices. In his new role, he takes on responsibility for the company’s strategic efforts to further grow and develop its U.S. casualty operation, by providing clients with relevant and impactful reinsurance solutions.
Brown brings extensive industry experience to the firm, having spent much of his 30-year career in casualty underwriting and leadership roles in both New York and London. Most recently, he served as Head of General Liability at Bermuda domiciled reinsurer, AXIS Re. He also served as Senior Vice President, General Casualty Business Unit Manager of AXIS Re from 2009 to 2018.
Prior to AXIS Re, Brown held senior roles at both PartnerRe and CNA Re.
