AXA XL, the property and casualty and specialty risk division of AXA, has appointed Jiten Halai as Global Chief Underwriting Officer for its Structured Risk Solutions business.
In this role, Halai will direct the global underwriting approach for the unit, enhancing AXA XL’s ability to deliver creative, non-traditional insurance solutions to corporate clients and captives.
He will partner with regional underwriting teams to strengthen and extend the company’s alternative risk transfer capabilities worldwide.

AXA XL’s Structured Risk Solutions team specialises in non-traditional insurance and reinsurance offerings for corporate clients and captives. Its work includes customised, multi-line and multi-year risk transfer structures, along with performance insurance designed for emerging technologies. The team supports organisations globally in addressing complex risks while enabling new avenues for growth through advanced solutions.
Halai has more than 15 years of experience across insurance and financial services. He joined AXA XL in 2019 and most recently served as Head of Structured Risk Solutions for the UK and Lloyd’s market. Earlier in his career, he held actuarial roles at Fidelis, Brit Insurance, ArgoGlobal, and Catlin.
