AXIS Capital has promoted Buddhima Mendis to be Ceded Re Treaty Manager.
Mendis will begin her new role immediately. She is currnetly based in New York.
In a social media post, AXIS Capital said: “With over 15 years of experience in reinsurance, Buddhima will be responsible for managing all phases of the reinsurance treaty placement process in order to support best execution of optimal terms and conditions and in accordance with company standards and business compliance protocols.”
According to her LinkedIn profile, Mendis has been with AXIS Capital for just under three years, beginning as a placements analyst in 2019 before being promoted the following year. She appears to have acceded into her new role in January.
Prior to joining AXIS Capital, Mendis worked at Marsh & McLennan in treaty reinsurance and catastrophe risk management. She also spent a number of years working for KB Insurance and the LOLC Insurance Company. She holds a bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Bangalore and an advanced diploma in insurance from the UK CII.
