Bentley returns to lead new Global Strategic Advisory unit at Guy Carpenter

Reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter has announced the launch of a new Global Strategic Advisory unit, which consists of its Advisory, Analytics, Structured Risk, M&A Advisory, Lloyd’s Capital, and Business Intelligence capabilities.

Rob Bentley will re-join the reinsurance broker insurance focused sister firm Marsh, where he was most recently in charge of the US and Canada Division, to take the lead role of President of the new Global Strategic Advisory unit at Guy Carpenter.

By combining a number of advisory divisions under one Global Strategic Advisory unit Guy Carpenter will hope to get the right advice in front of its clients more swiftly and efficiently, while leveraging different skill-sets to bring a more complete advisory product to reinsurance buyers.

Bentley, a 30-year veteran of insurance and reinsurance broking and with executive and operational experience in analytics and software development, will report to Guy Carpenter President & CEO of Peter Hearn, and will be based in New York.

“Guy Carpenter’s Strategic Advisory organization will add value to clients by delivering a globally consistent methodology for our advisory tools and capabilities,” commented Hearn. “I am pleased to welcome Rob back to Guy Carpenter in this important leadership role.”

Also announced is the appointment of Vicky Carter to Vice Chairman of Global Strategic Advisory, also reporting to Hearn. Carter, a reinsurance industry veteran with more than 35 years of experience, will continue to be based in London. She was most recently Vice Chair of Guy Carpenter’s international operations, before which she held multiple prominent leadership roles in the reinsurance industry.

“The new Guy Carpenter Global Strategic Advisory organization reflects our commitment to delivering a high-quality and consistently compelling global client experience,” explained Hearn. “Vicky is a seasoned executive who will work closely with our major clients and prospects around the world to help them grow profitably by identifying strategic opportunities.”
