Global re/insurer Chubb has appointed Tim Stapleton, currently Senior Vice President, Cyber Insurance and Information Technology, Overseas General Insurance, as Executive Vice President, Financial Lines, Overseas General Insurance.
Stapleton takes over from Steve Goldman, who has recently been named Vice President, Chubb Group and Division President, North America Financial Lines.
In his new role, which he takes on with immediate effect, Stapleton will report to Timothy O’Donnell, Vice President, Chubb Group and Division President, Commercial Property and Casualty, Overseas General Insurance.
Stapleton takes on executive oversight of the re/insurer’s management and professional liability lines of business, which include public, private, not-for-profit and financial institution directors and officers coverages, and also Chubb’s errors and omissions and cyber products. He will be responsible for the oversight of the division’s strategy, product and business development, underwriting operations, and profit and loss performance.

Stapleton brings more than 15 years of underwriting and management experience in financial lines to his new role. He joined Chubb in 2015 from Zurich Insurance Group, where he served as Global Underwriting Manager for Professional and Management Liability. Previously, he served as Zurich’s Deputy Head of Professional Liability, where he developed, implemented, and maintained global technical underwriting standards, product strategies and guidelines.
