Chubb UK and Ireland has announced the promotion of Chris Savvas to Head of PI as it looks to develop and improve its capabilities in financial lines and the professional indemnity sector.
The appointment is effective immediately and is a promotion from Savvas’ previous position of Senior PI Underwriter. He will be based in the firm’s London office and report to Chubb’s Financial Lines Manager for UK and Ireland, Grant Cairns.
Commenting on the news, Cairns said; “It is a testament to the quality of our underwriting talent pool that we are, once again, able to promote from within the organisation. I very much look forward to continuing to work with Chris in his new capacity as he develops this important line of business.”
Savvas’ new responsibilities include the management of Chubb’s PI portfolio and business operations in the UK and Ireland, and he brings over ten years of industry experience to the role.
He joined Chubb in 2016 from QBE, where he led the firm’s MENA region PI portfolio out of Dubai. Before QBE, Savvas worked at Travelers for seven years and held a number of different underwriting positions.
