Credit insurer, Coface has announced the appointment of Hugh Burke as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Coface Asia-Pacific region.
Within this new role, Burke joins the Group executive committee and will report to Coface CEO – Xavier Durand.
In a press release, it says that Burke takes over the role from Bhupesh Gupta, who has significantly contributed to transforming Coface’s culture during the past six years, and has managed the operations in the region through the sanitary crisis with “courage and accountability.”
Burke first joined the credit insurer in 2016, where he served as the Chief Commercial Officer for its Asia-Pacific region.
Based in Hong Kong, Burke successfully lead the region’s commercial transformation, with record year-on-year growth since 2018.
In addition, Burke also has more than 20 years of experience within the trade credit insurance industry. He has held previous senior positions at major specialist brokers.
Prior to joining Coface, Burke served as Head of Aon Asia’s trade credit business.
