Fidelis Insurance, the privately owned Bermuda-based holding company, has announced that it has rebranded its Managing General Agent (MGA), Firestone Surety Limited, to Oakside Surety Limited.
Following the rebrand, Oakside will continue to focus on the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) sector of the surety market.
The MGA’s original name was only intended to be used as a working title during the formation of the business, according to Fidelis. The new name, Oakside, has now been chosen as the MGA’s permanent identity.
Oakside is managed by Pine Walk Capital Limited, Fidelis’ subsidiary MGA platform, which was formed in November 2017 alongside the launch of Fidelis’ first MGA, Radius.
Fidelis announced in December 2017 that it had bought an equity stake in Firestone. More recently, the company also acquired an equity stake in Aware Specialty Limited, a newly incorporated MGA that focuses on mortgage indemnity insurance.
