FINACTU to support the Tunisia Ministry of Finance

French insurer, FINACTU has announced that it has been chosen by the World Bank to support the Tunisia Ministry of Finance in a new stage in the modernisation of the insurance sector.

The work will be carried out in collaboration with the Tunisian Ministry of Finance for the development of catastrophic risk financing.

FINACTU has a task to support the General Insurance Committee (CGA) for a new stage in the modernisation of the Tunisian insurance sector.

The objective of this 12-month mission is to support the CGA, the sector’s supervisory body, in the development of the insurance sector, in particular catastrophe risk insurance, by introducing a solvency approach based on risks and supervision of insurance groups.

Geraldine Mermoux, Managing Director of the FINACTU Group commented: “This mission confirms the very strong ambitions of the Tunisian Ministry of Finance. Through the General Insurance Committee in the modernisation of the insurance sector. For the benefit of policyholders, the objective is to continue a very demanding process of upgrading that has already been very much underway, drawing inspiration from international best practices.”
