Gallagher, an insurance brokerage, risk management and consulting firm, has appointed Adam Stafford as Chief Operating Officer (COO) for its Specialty division, thereby expanding its London Market operational expertise.
The appointment is effective starting September 2026. In his new role, Stafford will report to Sarah Lyons, Chief Executive Officer, Gallagher Specialty and will become part of the broker’s operations leadership team led by Charles Crawford, COO, UK & EMEA.
He will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of operations with a strong focus on technology, digital innovation, and strategic development as the business continues to expand.
Stafford has over 25 years of industry experience, having spent the last decade as COO of UK & International for BMS. His experience encompasses broking, underwriting platforms, market infrastructure, and transformation, operational scaling, and building infrastructure for high-growth businesses.
In the past, he has worked at Lloyd’s of London, where he drove market reform, spearheaded technology initiatives, and led operational change. He started his career at broker Aon.
