Bermuda-based re/insurer Hamilton has today announced the appointment of Clay Rhoades as President, Hamilton Managing General Agency Americas.

He arrives from Kinsale Insurance where he served as SVP of Commercial Property/Inland Marine.

Before that he spent time as SVP of Kinsale’s Professional Liability, Management Liability, and Public Entity segment.

Before Kinsale, Rhoades spent several years in increasingly senior positions at Argo Group.

He will now focus on the expansion of Hamilton’s US specialty insurance businesses written across its group platforms.

“I’m thrilled that Clay has decided to join Hamilton. His knowledge and relationships will be instrumental not only as we grow our existing business, but also as we thoughtfully expand our product offerings in the US” said Albo.

“Clay’s leadership will provide the springboard we need to advance our US buildout at an ideal time in the market.

“Clay joins a strong underwriting operation in the US, which has recently expanded to include environmental liability and transactional liability and will look to attract new talent for targeted lines of business.”
